Henry first became interested by alternative medicine when a family member became ill, and he started researching various ways to help. Down the rabbit hole he went, learning all he could about natural medicine and how to treat disease without western medicine.
After receiving acupuncture in Thailand, he was amazed how profoundly the body and mind can be affected.
The following year, he enrolled at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London, and studied Acupuncture and Naturopathy for four years. This has become a lifelong passion and dedication to constantly learning new techniques to help his patients discover their optimal health and wellbeing again.
Acupuncture is the practice of inserting incredibly fine needles at various points in the body. This promotes homeostasis, and stimulates the body to heal itself.
Acupuncture influences the cardiovascular, immune, nervous and endocrine systems.
In short, the benefits of Acupuncture are vast, including improved sleep, improved stress response, less pain, more energy and stabilized moods. Acupuncture can help all sorts of chronic pain issues such as migraine, sciatica, tennis elbow, fibromyalgia, arthritis, neck and shoulder issues etc. Also, insomnia, gynecological issues, heart conditions, liver and kidney disease, lung issues including asthma and COPD, skin problems and much more can be helped by this incredible healthcare system.
A consultation can typically last up to 90 mins, where I will take a detailed case history, before the treatment begins. Patients rarely have to undress, as I mostly use distal acupuncture, which uses easy to access areas of the arms and legs. Effects can be felt seconds after the needles are inserted , with pain often disappearing or reducing to a much lower level. Subsequent sessions last up to an hour, and the frequency and number of sessions each person requires is individual and will be discussed in the consultation.
Patients are advised to wear loose clothing, have neither a full or empty stomach, and refrain from drinking coffee and taking painkillers before a session.
